descriptionA mantle clock. Sold as a sculpture. Simple [defective] movement. Rich, well casted piece, wonderfull gloss and atmosphere. A very attractively made, standing, female figure, crowns this piece of pure "Amsterdam School" work of Art. This very clock was exhibited at the Agterberg exhibition at the Utrecht Centraal Museum (2001)There are only some five copies known, the title is "Klok Met Punt" (pointed clock) Agterberg also did ceramic sculptures, and some decorated glass- ware in the "Wiener Werkstadte" style, made masks, jewellery and monumental sculptural work. A neglected artist because of his attitude in 2nd. World-War. Only recently a monograph on him was published. Another copy of this fine mantleclock was recently [2006]sold at Christies [Amsterdam] for 25000 Euro, exclusive of premium [The Leidelmeier collection]
